It was one of the most humbling moments of my life to be honored with the “Lifetime Achievement Award” by His Excellency, the Hon’ble President of India, Shri. Pranab Mukherjee, during the World Health Day Summit held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. To receive this prestigious recognition from the highest constitutional authority in the country is a moment of immense pride and gratitude. This award is not just a personal honor—it is a tribute to the collective journey we’ve taken in transforming dental and healthcare education in India.
Standing at Vigyan Bhavan, I reflected on the decades of work, challenges, and milestones that led us here. This recognition reaffirms my belief that when education is guided by service and compassion, it can truly uplift lives and communities.

On 21st July 2024, I was deeply honored to receive the prestigious “Kalvi Sudar” award at the International Tamil Writers’ Conference held in Ipoh, Malaysia.
The award was presented by Hon. Mr. A. Sivanesan, Chairman of the Perak State Government Health, Human Resources and Indian Affairs Committee (Malaysia) — a recognition that transcends borders and reflects the universal value of education rooted in language, culture, and service.
Being recognized in a global Tamil forum for my contributions to education is both humbling and affirming. As someone who believes that knowledge must be shared beyond walls and nations, this honor strengthens my commitment to carrying the torch of learning wherever it’s needed most.

It was my vision that every citizen should be equipped with the knowledge and skill to save a life. On 7th April 2016, that vision came alive when Saveetha University set a Guinness World Record by training 28,015 people in CPR in just 8 hours and 8 minutes — the most ever trained within 24 hours. This was not just an event; it was a movement. On World Health Day, as part of our ‘Save a Life’ campaign, we turned awareness into action, ensuring thousands walked away ready to respond in a moment of crisis. Awards and records fade, but a life saved lasts forever — and that is the real victory."

“India Smiles: 101,309 Lives Touched in a Single Day"
As the Founder and Chancellor of Saveetha University, I have always believed that preventive dental care should be accessible to everyone, especially children. On 27th November 2014, my vision took shape in a way I will never forget. Under my leadership, our team reached 77 locations across 16 cities in India and conducted dental health checks for 101,309 people in just one day — earning us a Guinness World Record. We called it the ‘India Smiles’ campaign, but for me, it was much more than a record. It was about inspiring young minds, creating awareness, and building a generation that values oral health. Records can be broken, but the healthy smiles we nurtured that day will last a lifetime."
